#lainitaylor #lefaiseurdereves #strangethedreamer #editionslumen #currentlyreading #instabook #instaread #bookaddict #bookstagram #read #reading

I finished this quick read this morning, and maybe it was my lack of sleep, but I was in tears {happy tears!} as I finished the last page. . . “As a side note, don’t you think everyone should have to come out? Why is straight the default?” -Simon aka Jacques 🏳️‍🌈 . . My biggest takeaway from this book was the fact that this is such a simple, straightforward and ADORABLE young adult novel, with the tiny detail that the love story just happens to be about a gay teenager. It’s the first book I have read that so easily normalized LGBTQ relationships for young people, which has led me to ask several of my friends who have come out whether there were any books like this when we were younger that they read. I haven’t gotten any positive answers yet. . . So, 1) do you have any recommendations of other similar books? Or any books that did an AWFUL job of addressing homosexuality for teens? 2) We NEED more books like this! 3) If you haven’t seen the movie Love, Simon, please go see it!! ❤️ . . Overall, four out of five stars! 🌟🌟🌟🌟

“Oops! I did it again....” I ended up staying up way way past my bedtime last night to read this book and I’m definitely paying for it this morning! 😴 Worth it... lol! I also had quite a few weird dreams last night, one being that I was auditioning for some dancing part in a music video and I was really really bad, but somehow I got the part? 🤷🏻‍♀️ I also went to the dentist in my dream aka nightmare, so who knows what the heck was going on in my subconscious last night. 😂 . . Anyone else have weird dreams all the time? What about recurring dreams? 😴 . . One of the things that helped me relax and fly through so much of my book yesterday was a hot cup of @harneyteas ginger peach tea sent to me by @sipsby #partner. It’s definitely a new favorite and I’m pumped that they sent me quite a few satchels in my August box! Once a month, I get an assortment of new teas to try and I’ve been so enjoying it! If you’re interested in trying it too, head to sipsby.com and use code ALISA5 at checkout to receive $5 off your first box! I promise you’ll love it just as much as I do! It would also make an awesome birthday/anniversary present for the tea lover in your life, so be sure to check it out! ☕️

° - Sanki her şeyle bağlantısı kesilmiş gibiydi. ° - Kitaplar... Hepsi içinde bambaşka birer dünya barındırıyor. Kelimelerden oluşan bir dünya, bir süreliğine sığınabileceğiniz. ° - Hayat daima düşündüğünüz şekilde gitmiyordu. Kimi zaman hiçbir anlam dahi ifade etmiyordu. Yapman gereken tek şey orada yaşamanın bir yolunu bulmak. ° - Kim bilir? Belki de gerçekten ötesi vardır. ¤ #PatrickNess

Are you an explorer? When is the last time you did something that everyone else thought was crazy? For me, I cannot think of a time I ventured too far out of my normal routine, but Kate Harris is a different story. Not only is she brilliant, but she is also daring and driven to have experiences like nothing else. This is what made her book Lands of Lost Borders so phenomenal to read; not only did I learn so much but was also inspired to try for more in life, even if I don't want to head out on my bike for a year.⠀ -⠀ Harris grew up knowing she wanted to explore space. Her dream drove her to become exceptional in science, which led her to many opportunities in life like being able to study at MIT. The crazy thing about Harris, though, is that she put all of this on hold because of another passion: exploration. More specifically, Harris wanted to bike the Silk Road where Marco Polo once travelled.⠀ -⠀ This is where her book focuses, though she does provide readers with some back story in order for us to understand what led her to this moment in her life. Taking off with her friend Mel, Harris spent a year biking the Silk Road. Along the way Harris encounters various challenges, like losing her only pair of bike shorts, but none of these stop her from her dream. What I appreciated about the book was how inspiring Harris is. Honestly, I will probably never do anything as daring as she does, but I enjoyed reading about her experiences and what she learned. Also, I learned things from the insights she shared. As she bikes through one country into another, navigating issues of visas and check points, Harris reflects on the true nature of borders, what they really mean to us, and how impermanent they can be. In today's world I think this is particularly applicable and encourage you all to read this book simply for the fact that Harris's outlook is unique and incredibly important.⠀ -⠀ If you're craving an adventure memoir, this fits the bill. If you want to learn about part of our world, this is the book. If you want to think deeply about what it means to interact with those around us, read this book.⠀ -⠀ Thank you to Dey Street Books for sending me a copy to review!

August 21: Until an hour before the Devil fell, God thought him beautiful in Heaven. — The Crucible I’m still not in much of a reading mood, but I have been reading The Crucible over coffee in the mornings. I had forgotten how much I liked it, though you have to look past some things. Miller was progressive for his time, but it was set in the 1690’s and written in the 1950’s. QotD: What are your favorite books or films that feature witches, witchcraft, or even the witch trials in New England and Europe? And tell me who you’re favorite witch is, in history or fiction. . *i like to call this post “I have no idea what’s going on with my feed, but this is where we are now...”

August Photo Challenges day 21: #bookstagramreadsaugust (series I need to finish) I guess technically I can't finish the Stalking Jack the Ripper series yet, since the next books are out just yet 😆 but its definitely one I plan on finishing!
