I am going to let you in on something that... VEEEEERY FEW people talk about or when notice. And yes, you are welcome 😎. Equipment is a very tricky thing, because it always depends on the brand and the quality of the piece. When it comes to bench, you have to be aware of certain things that will affect your performance 😲. I have noticed that the bench I have performed this lift on is very narrow and low, so I feel like my retracted scapulae can't really sit comfortably due to the equipment's smaller width, plus my leg drive is weaker, so that affects my and other lifter's ability to produce power😭. When I finish the sets, my rhomboids and middle traps are aching of the extra effort they put on stabilizing my torso 🤕. I know... bummer huh? Another thing is the girth of the bar 🏋. Make sure you have a bar that doesn't spin and that is thick enough so you can grip it (you know what I'm saying?? 😏) but not too thick that you can't wrap your hand around (I meaaaan!!). Recently I was at a gym that, the bar was slightly thinner, that it started hurting my right shoulder because of the stabilization effort, but the moment I switched to a thicker bar... it went away... So close to the top then pop goes that left hand 😂 Didn't have the right body position in the volume. Should have had a comfortable knee bar but the last move would have been darn hard as you can see there is no glory jug after all that work! No-one topped this and only me and @jordyndamasco1 got to the pinch (she even managed a further move to slap for the top hold!) I will be back to @adrenalinevaultperth to climb this and film it if it is still up. Hopefully I can show the difference between climbing a hard boulder with the beta and being fresh to climbing a hard boulder onsight, exhausted and stressed. Getting through that stress, reading correctly, relaxing and executing in comps is what makes winners!!
