I did my first FARTlek of the season.😂😂 It was an enjoyable run! I'm not sure how other people do them but I ran an easy pace for about 10 breathes then 10 fast strides. Each time I switched between easy and fast pace, I would increase the strides by 10 going all the way to 💯. It was a blast!!💥How do you do fartleks? . . I feel the safest running in neighborhoods. I love running in really nice neighborhoods and looking at houses. Its difficult for me to find a good place to run. Where do you run? . . It's Friday night y'all! Can we talk pull-ups for a moment? I see people all the time in varied fitness environments doing the worst excuses for pull-ups I’ve ever seen. Why is this important? Cause bad form leads to injury. Stop swinging. Stop kicking your feet. Stop “kipping”. The move starts with arms fully extended at the bottom, then note at the top the bar is actually at my shoulders, not my chin. Swipe left⬅️ and you see where most people stop during the move because they “can’t” get over the bar. Want to know how many pull-ups I was able to do at first? Zero. Put a chair under the bar, throw a band over and loop it under your foot or use an assisted pull-up machine to modify the move as you get stronger. Enjoying pool time w/ these 2 cuties! Had to split my 8 mile tempo run today, did an am and a pm, same route both times and I crushed it w/ 200 ft of gain in each run. My last 2 tempo runs I have been using people who have upset me, or been unkind to me as fuel. I visualize toeing the start of a race w/ them and when that imaginary gun goes off, I leave them in the rear view. 😈 My MGP miles have never come easier.
